How a Commercial Move Works
1. Site walkthrough. We visit both locations, count what is moving, and note the access constraints at each end.
2. Crew plan and hourly estimate. Crew size, truck count, timeline and the rate you will be charged, in writing before you book.
3. Move night. Labelled, crated and loaded on schedule, usually outside your business hours.
4. Setup and sign-off. Reassembly, placement by your floor plan, then a walkthrough with you before the crew leaves.
What We Bring On Every Job
Free plastic moving crates for office and retail jobs, dropped off before the move and collected after, so nobody spends a week taping cardboard.
Every truck carries moving blankets, shrink wrap, four-wheel dollies, machinery skates, panel carts, floor and door protection, and the tools to break down desks and racking. Crating materials for screens, artwork and lab equipment come on request.
Scheduling and Building Access
Book four to eight weeks ahead for offices over ten staff, and longer for warehouse or phased projects. Month-end and lease-turnover dates fill first.
Evenings, weekends and statutory holidays are all available, and for most commercial moves that is what we recommend. We book elevators and loading bays with your building, and issue certificates of insurance for landlords and property managers before move day.

How much downtime should we plan for?
Most small and mid-size offices move over a single weekend or overnight and are working normally the next business morning. Warehouses and multi-floor offices are usually phased across two or three nights so part of the operation keeps running throughout. We build the schedule backwards from the hour you need to be open.
Do you move IT and server equipment?
Yes. Servers, switches, monitors and desktops are crated and transported separately from furniture. We coordinate the shutdown and reconnection windows with your IT provider or internal team, and we handle the physical move while they handle the network and the rebuild.
Are you licensed and insured for commercial work in BC?
Secure Moving is fully licensed, bonded and WorkSafeBC-covered, and carries commercial liability coverage alongside full replacement protection on your equipment. We issue certificates of insurance naming your building or landlord whenever a property manager asks for one, usually within a business day.
How far in advance should a business book an office move?
Four to eight weeks is comfortable for an office over ten staff, and warehouse or phased projects want longer. Month-end dates and lease-turnover weekends fill first. Smaller offices can often be booked inside two weeks, and we do take short-notice commercial work when a crew is free.
Can you work evenings, weekends or statutory holidays?
Yes, and for most commercial moves that is what we recommend. Evening, weekend and statutory-holiday crews are quoted at the hourly rate you agreed, with no after-hours mark-up added later. Building elevator bookings are arranged for the same window.
Do you move warehouses, racking and industrial equipment?
Yes. Pallet racking, shelving, machinery and inventory are moved with skates, pallet jacks and panel carts, on a load plan built around your dock schedule. Anything needing a rigger or a crane is flagged at the walkthrough so it is in the plan rather than a surprise on the day.
