What’s Included in Every Commercial Move

A coordinator walks both sites before we quote. They measure doorways and elevators, count workstations, and flag anything that needs a specialist, so the crew size and the hourly estimate you get are built on your actual floor rather than a phone guess.

You also get a labelling system drawn from your new floor plan, so every crate lands at the right desk or bay instead of in a pile by the door.

  • Free on-site walkthrough — inventory, access notes and elevator measurements before we quote.
  • Dedicated move coordinator — one contact from the walkthrough to the final sign-off.
  • After-hours and weekend crews — evenings, Sundays and statutory holidays at the rate you agreed.
  • Building coordination — elevator bookings, loading bays and certificates of insurance.
  • Labelling by floor plan — every crate matched to its destination desk or bay.
  • Disassembly and reassembly — desks, racking and equipment put back the way they came apart.
  • Free plastic moving crates — dropped off before the move and picked up after.

Why Metro Vancouver Businesses Choose Secure Moving

We Work Around Your Downtime

Most offices move on a Friday night or across a weekend and are back at their desks Monday morning. Warehouses are usually phased instead, so part of the operation keeps running while the rest of it moves.

You get a name and a direct line, not a dispatch queue. The same person who walked your site books the elevators, briefs the crew, and does the final walkthrough with you.

The Hourly Rate Is the Whole Story

We quote a clear hourly rate before you book, and it covers the truck, the crew, blankets, dollies and shrink wrap. No fuel surcharge, no stair fee, no after-hours mark-up you find out about on the invoice.

Licensed, bonded and WorkSafeBC-covered, with commercial liability coverage and full replacement protection on your equipment. We issue certificates of insurance for your building or landlord on request.

Building Access Handled

We book elevators and loading bays with your property manager, handle the COI paperwork, and arrange street permits where a downtown loading zone needs one.

Servers, switches and monitors travel crated and separately. We coordinate shutdown and reconnection windows with your IT provider: we move the hardware, they handle the network.

How a Commercial Move Works

1. Site walkthrough. We visit both locations, count what is moving, and note the access constraints at each end.

2. Crew plan and hourly estimate. Crew size, truck count, timeline and the rate you will be charged, in writing before you book.

3. Move night. Labelled, crated and loaded on schedule, usually outside your business hours.

4. Setup and sign-off. Reassembly, placement by your floor plan, then a walkthrough with you before the crew leaves.

What We Bring On Every Job

Free plastic moving crates for office and retail jobs, dropped off before the move and collected after, so nobody spends a week taping cardboard.

Every truck carries moving blankets, shrink wrap, four-wheel dollies, machinery skates, panel carts, floor and door protection, and the tools to break down desks and racking. Crating materials for screens, artwork and lab equipment come on request.

Scheduling and Building Access

Book four to eight weeks ahead for offices over ten staff, and longer for warehouse or phased projects. Month-end and lease-turnover dates fill first.

Evenings, weekends and statutory holidays are all available, and for most commercial moves that is what we recommend. We book elevators and loading bays with your building, and issue certificates of insurance for landlords and property managers before move day.

Commercial Moving FAQs

How much downtime should we plan for?

Most small and mid-size offices move over a single weekend or overnight and are working normally the next business morning. Warehouses and multi-floor offices are usually phased across two or three nights so part of the operation keeps running throughout. We build the schedule backwards from the hour you need to be open.

Yes. Servers, switches, monitors and desktops are crated and transported separately from furniture. We coordinate the shutdown and reconnection windows with your IT provider or internal team, and we handle the physical move while they handle the network and the rebuild.

Secure Moving is fully licensed, bonded and WorkSafeBC-covered, and carries commercial liability coverage alongside full replacement protection on your equipment. We issue certificates of insurance naming your building or landlord whenever a property manager asks for one, usually within a business day.

Four to eight weeks is comfortable for an office over ten staff, and warehouse or phased projects want longer. Month-end dates and lease-turnover weekends fill first. Smaller offices can often be booked inside two weeks, and we do take short-notice commercial work when a crew is free.

Yes, and for most commercial moves that is what we recommend. Evening, weekend and statutory-holiday crews are quoted at the hourly rate you agreed, with no after-hours mark-up added later. Building elevator bookings are arranged for the same window.

Yes. Pallet racking, shelving, machinery and inventory are moved with skates, pallet jacks and panel carts, on a load plan built around your dock schedule. Anything needing a rigger or a crane is flagged at the walkthrough so it is in the plan rather than a surprise on the day.
