Same Day and Last Minute Movers in Vancouver
A Crew Today or Tomorrow When the Plan Fell Through
The movers you booked did not show, the possession date moved, or the landlord wants the suite empty by tonight. Call before noon and if a crew is free we can usually be at your door the same afternoon. Call later and we look at first thing tomorrow.
Short-notice moves across Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, the North Shore, the Tri-Cities, Surrey and the Fraser Valley, from a single room to a full apartment.
For same-day jobs the phone is faster than the form: (604) 500-3003. If you are planning for tomorrow or the weekend, send the form and we come back with a window quickly during office hours.

What Can Be Moved at Short Notice
Most of the calls we get on the day are one of these. The common thread is that nobody planned to be calling a moving company today.
The Other Movers Did Not Show
A booked crew that never arrived, or arrived with a truck too small. Tell us what is packed and we take it from there.
Possession Date Moved
The sale completed early, the keys came a day late, or the lawyer's timing changed. We fit the move to the new date.
Lease Ends Tomorrow
A studio or one-bedroom emptied in an afternoon, cleaned out before the walkthrough with the landlord.

Emergency Storage

Rush Packing
Nothing in boxes yet. We bring boxes and paper and pack while the truck is loading. Learn more →
Office Cleared Over a Weekend
A lease surrender on Monday morning, desks and files out on Saturday. Learn more →
Marketplace and Store Pickups
A piece you have to collect today or lose, brought to your door the same day.
Within-Building Moves
A suite swap or a move between floors, booked around the elevator the building can give you today.
What a Same-Day Move Includes
A rushed move is the same move with less planning time, so the crew brings everything a planned job would get. What changes is the order: load first, sort later, and the questions we would normally ask over a week get asked in one phone call.
The thing that decides whether a same-day job works is not the distance. It is access. A ground-floor townhouse with a driveway can be done this afternoon. A high-rise with no elevator booking cannot, because the building controls that and not us.
- Two or three movers and a truck: sized to what you describe on the phone, with a bigger truck sent when you are not sure.
- Blankets, stretch wrap and dollies: the same kit as a planned move, loaded before the crew leaves the yard.
- Boxes and packing paper on the truck: for the half-packed kitchen everyone has when the date moves.
- A straight hourly rate: the same rate we charge any other day, with a minimum block of hours we confirm before the crew leaves.
- A real arrival window: we tell you when the crew can be there and call if traffic on the bridges changes it.
What a Short-Notice Move Depends On
Call Before Noon for Today
Crews finish morning jobs between one and three. A call before noon lets us route a crew to you when they clear, with time to finish before dark. After noon, same-day is still possible for small jobs, but tomorrow morning is usually the better answer.
The End of the Month Is the Hard Part
Most leases in Metro Vancouver turn over on the first, so the last three days of any month and the first two of the next are the busiest on our calendar. Same-day in that window usually means a small job squeezed between two booked ones, and we will tell you honestly if it cannot be done.
Elevators and Permits Do Not Rush
A condo’s move-in elevator is booked through the building, and a reserved curb in Vancouver takes 7 to 10 business days to permit. Neither of those is in our hands. What we can do is work around a shared elevator and park legally close by, which takes longer and we say so up front.
Packed or Not, Say So
A crew that expects boxes and finds open cupboards loses an hour. Tell us plainly what is packed, what is half-packed and what has not been touched, and we send paper, boxes and an extra pair of hands for the rest.
No Rush Surcharge
A short-notice move is billed at the same hourly rate as a move booked a month ago. If a crew is free, you get the crew. If we cannot do it today, we say so rather than sending someone we had to pull off another job.
Insured on Short Notice Too
Licensed, bonded and WorkSafeBC registered on every job, including the one booked an hour ago. A fast crew from a classifieds ad is the alternative, and that is a bet on a stranger with your furniture.

How a Same-Day Move Runs
1. Call, do not email. Tell us the two addresses, what is moving, what is packed and the access at both ends.
2. A yes or a no in minutes. We check which crew clears first and give you a window, or tell you that today is not possible.
3. The crew calls on the way. You get a heads-up from the truck, not a text from a dispatcher.
4. Loaded, driven, placed. Furniture wrapped as it comes out, boxes stacked by room at the other end.
What to Do in the Hour Before We Arrive
Put everything loose into any box or bag you can find and label the room, even with a marker on tape. Empty the fridge into a cooler. Take the bedding off and bag it. Put phones, chargers, keys, documents and medication in one bag that stays with you, not on the truck.
Tell the building you are moving, even late. A concierge who knows a truck is coming will often free up the service elevator for an hour rather than send you back down.
When Same-Day Is Not the Answer
A full three-bedroom house with nothing packed is not a same-day job for anyone, and we will not pretend otherwise. Neither is a move that needs a booked elevator the building cannot give you, or a reserved curb on a metered street.
In those cases we book the earliest full day, send packers ahead if that helps, or move the time-sensitive part today, the bed and the kitchen, and the rest on the booked day. Partial moves are a normal answer to a last-minute problem.
Same-Day and Last Minute Moving FAQs
Can you really move me today?
Often, yes. It depends on the size of the job, when you call and what the day’s crews are doing. Small jobs called in before noon are the ones that work most reliably. Call and we will tell you within a few minutes whether today is possible or whether tomorrow morning is the honest answer.
Is there an extra charge for a last-minute move?
No. Same-day work is billed at our standard hourly rate with the usual minimum block of hours. The only way a rushed move costs more is if it takes longer, usually because packing was not done, and we help with that rather than charge for it twice.
What if nothing is packed?
Say so when you call. Our crew brings boxes and paper and we add a packer to the job so the kitchen and the closets get boxed while the furniture is loading. It takes longer than a packed move, but it still gets done today.
The movers I booked did not show up. What now?
Call us with the two addresses and what is sitting there ready to go. Because the job is already packed and the elevator or parking is probably already arranged, a no-show rescue is one of the easiest same-day jobs we do.
Can you move me on a weekend or a holiday at short notice?
Weekends yes, and they are often easier than weekdays because office moves are not competing for crews. Statutory holidays depend on who is working; call and we will tell you.
Do you do same-day moves outside Vancouver?
Across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, yes. The further the job is from where a crew is finishing, the later in the day the window gets, so Chilliwack or Mission on the same day is rarer than Burnaby or Richmond. Longer routes such as long-distance moves need at least a few days.
Services That Pair With a Last Minute Move
Need a Crew Today or Tomorrow?
Call with the two addresses and what is moving, and we will tell you in a few minutes whether today works. If it does not, you will have the earliest real date instead of a maybe.
