What Kind of Home Are You Moving?
A third-floor walk-up and a house with a crawlspace need different crews, different trucks and different amounts of time. Pick the one closest to yours.
Apartments & Condos
Elevator bookings, loading-bay windows and strata paperwork sorted before the truck arrives.
Houses & Townhomes
Stairs, basements, garages and the shed nobody remembers until move morning.
Studios & One-Bedrooms
Two movers, one truck, usually done inside half a day at the hourly rate.

What’s Included in Every Home Move
Before you book, we go through the place room by room, either on site or over a video call. That is where the crew size and the hours get worked out, and where we catch the things that quietly add an hour on the day: a sofa that will not clear the stairwell, a driveway a five-tonne cannot back into, an elevator that needs booking two weeks out.
The rate you are given at that point is the rate you pay.
- Walkthrough before booking — on site or by video, whichever suits your week.
- Full-time trained crews — the same people who do this every day, never casual labour.
- Blankets, wrap and floor protection — every truck carries them, and there is no charge for using them.
- Disassembly and reassembly — beds, tables and flat-pack put back together at the other end.
- Free plastic crates — dropped off before a two-bedroom move or larger, collected after.
- Strata and elevator bookings — we deal with the building so you do not have to.
- Full replacement coverage — not the basic per-pound liability most quotes are based on.
Why Metro Vancouver Households Choose Secure Moving
Full-Time Crews, Not Day Labour
The people who show up are on staff and have done this hundreds of times. That is the single biggest difference between a move that finishes early and one that runs three hours over while somebody works out how to get a mattress round a corner.
One Rate, Counted Honestly
You are charged for the hours worked, at the rate agreed when you booked. Blankets, wrap, dollies and floor protection come with the truck. There is no fuel levy, no stair charge and no heavy-item fee waiting on the invoice.
Free Plastic Crates on Bigger Moves
Two bedrooms or more and we drop crates off before the move and pick them up after. They stack properly, they do not collapse in the rain, and you are not driving round Burnaby at 9pm looking for boxes.
Your Things Are Actually Covered
Full replacement protection, not the basic per-pound liability that pays out a few dollars for a broken television. Licensed, bonded and WorkSafeBC-covered, so nothing lands on your household insurance if a mover is hurt on your stairs.
Strata and Elevator Bookings Handled
Give us the building and we take it from there: elevator reserved, loading bay booked, certificate of insurance sent to the property manager. Most delays on condo moves come from paperwork nobody filed, and that is ours to file.
You Reach a Person, Not a Queue
Call the office and someone who knows your booking picks up. On the day you get a confirmation in the morning and an update when the crew is on the way, so you are not standing in an empty hallway wondering.

How Your Home Move Works
1. Walkthrough. On site or by video call, room by room, including the storage locker and the garage.
2. Crew plan and hourly rate. How many movers, how many trucks, how long it should take, and what it costs per hour.
3. Move day. Crates and blankets on arrival, floors and door frames protected, everything loaded in an order that makes unloading fast.
4. Placed, not dumped. Boxes go to the room on the label and furniture gets rebuilt where you want it standing.
What Comes On The Truck
Free plastic crates on two-bedroom moves and larger, dropped off in advance so you can pack at your own pace instead of hunting for cardboard.
Beyond that: moving blankets, shrink wrap, mattress and sofa covers, wardrobe boxes, four-wheel dollies, appliance trolleys, floor runners and door-frame protectors, plus the tools to break down bed frames and reassemble them.
Booking, Timing and Building Access
Month-end, the first of the month and the last weekend of summer go first, so aim three to four weeks out for those. Mid-month weekdays are usually available inside a week.
If you are in a strata, tell us the building when you book. We contact the manager, reserve the elevator and loading bay, and send over the certificate of insurance most buildings ask for before they release the keys.
Home Moving FAQs
How much does a home move cost in Vancouver?
Local home moves are billed by the hour, so the total comes down to crew size and how long the job takes. A studio or one-bedroom is usually two movers and half a day; a three-bedroom house with stairs at both ends is normally three or four movers across a full day. We give you the rate and a realistic hour range after the walkthrough, before you commit to anything.
How far ahead should I book?
Three to four weeks for month-end, the first of the month, or any weekend in July and August. Mid-month weekdays often have space inside a week. If your dates are still moving, book the likely one and tell us — shifting a date is easy, finding a crew at the last minute in August is not.
Do you supply boxes and packing materials?
Plastic crates are free on two-bedroom moves and larger, delivered before the move and collected afterwards. Cardboard, wardrobe boxes, paper and tape are available if you would rather pack yourself, and our packing crews can take the whole job off you.
Can you move a piano, a safe or a treadmill?
Yes. Upright pianos, gun safes, home gym equipment and oversized furniture are regular work for us, with skates, straps and extra crew where the weight needs it. Tell us at the walkthrough so the right kit is on the truck rather than an hour away.
What happens if my possession date changes?
It happens constantly with completions, and we would rather you told us early than kept a date that is slipping. If there is a gap between moving out and moving in, we can hold your furniture in storage and deliver it when the keys land.
Do you move on weekends and evenings?
Yes, at the same hourly rate you were quoted. Saturdays and month-end weekends book out first, so those are the dates worth locking in early.
