Student Movers for the Places Two People and a Truck Can Actually Fix
Residence, Shared Houses and First Apartments Around UBC, SFU and Downtown
A student move is usually a bed, a desk, a couple of suitcases and more books than anyone expected. It does not need five movers and a five-tonne. It needs two people who know the residence loading rules and can be done before your parking permit expires.
Regular runs to UBC and Point Grey, SFU Burnaby, Langara, BCIT, Emily Carr and the downtown towers, plus Surrey, Richmond and New Westminster.

What You Get on a Student Move
Two movers, one truck, and a rate you can work out in your head. Most residence and studio moves land between two and four hours, and you pay for the hours worked rather than a package price built around a bigger job.
We bring the blankets, the wrap and the dolly, because the alternative is your mattress going down a stairwell unprotected.
- Two-mover crews — the right size for a room, a studio or a shared-house bedroom.
- No inflated minimum — small jobs are priced as small jobs.
- Blankets and wrap included — mattress covers, wardrobe boxes and floor protection on the truck.
- Residence rules handled — loading zones, service lifts and the fifteen-minute bay outside.
- Same-week bookings — outside the September and April peaks, usually yes.
- Summer storage — we hold it from April and bring it back in September.
- Split pickups — grab a couch from one address and a desk from another on the same run.
Why Students Book Us Instead of Renting a Van
Cheaper Than It Looks
A rental van, fuel, insurance and a day of your life is not the bargain it appears once you add it up, and it does not include two people who can carry a mattress down four flights. Two movers for three hours often lands close to the same number.
No Minimum Built for a Big House
Plenty of companies quote a four-hour minimum because their business is family homes. A residence room is not that job, and we price it as what it is.
We Know the Buildings
Service lifts that need booking, fifteen-minute bays, the gate code at the back of the residence block. Campus and downtown towers each have their own rules and the crews already know most of them.
Your Deposit Survives
Blankets on the furniture, runners on the floor and protection round the door frames. Most damage charges at move-out come from a scraped wall in a corridor, not from anything in the room.
Insured, Which a Friend’s Truck Is Not
Licensed, bonded and WorkSafeBC-covered, with full replacement protection. If a friend hurts their back helping you, that is a genuinely bad afternoon for everyone.
Storage Over the Summer
Residence closes in April and reopens in September. Rather than shipping everything home, we collect it, hold it, and deliver it to whatever address you have by then.

Student Moves Across Metro Vancouver
How a Student Move Runs
1. Tell us what there is. A photo of the room is faster than a list and usually more accurate.
2. Crew and hourly rate. Nearly always two movers and a truck, with an honest estimate of the hours.
3. Moving day. Mattress covered, desk broken down, boxes loaded, building rules respected.
4. Into the new place. Furniture reassembled and boxes in the right room before we go.
What Comes With the Truck
Moving blankets, mattress bags, shrink wrap, wardrobe boxes, a four-wheel dolly, floor runners and the tools to strip and rebuild a bed frame or a flat-pack desk.
Cardboard, tape and paper can be dropped off beforehand if you would rather pack over the weekend than the night before.
September, April and Everything Between
The last week of August and the first week of September are the busiest days of our year, and the same goes for the April residence closures. Book those three or four weeks out.
The rest of the year is far easier and we can often move you inside a week. Mid-week is cheaper on your time too, since campus loading zones are half as contested on a Tuesday.
Student Moving FAQs
How much does a student move cost in Vancouver?
Charged hourly, and most residence or studio moves come in between two and four hours with two movers. The variables are stairs, how far the truck can park from the door and how much you have packed before we arrive. We will give you the rate and a realistic range up front.
Can you move just one or two items?
Yes. A mattress, a sofa off Marketplace or a fridge from a friend’s place are all normal single-item jobs, usually an hour or two.
How early should I book for September?
Three to four weeks, and the same for the April move-out. Those two windows are the busiest of our year by a wide margin. Any other month is generally fine inside a week.
Do you go up to SFU and out to UBC?
Both regularly, along with Langara, BCIT, Emily Carr and the downtown campuses. Burnaby Mountain in winter is not a place to be driving a rented van, which is a fair argument for letting someone else do it.
Can you store my things over the summer?
Yes. We collect in April, hold it month to month, and deliver in late August or September to wherever you are living then. It costs less than most people assume, because a residence room takes very little space.
What if my roommate and I are moving to different places?
That is a split drop and we do it often. Two addresses on one booking is cheaper than two separate moves, as long as they are reasonably close together.
Other Things That Help
Moving Into Residence or Out of a Sublet?
Send a photo of the room and the two addresses. We will tell you how long it should take and what the hourly rate is, with no minimum built for a four-bedroom house.
