Retail and Restaurant Movers Who Work Around Your Trading Hours

Fixtures, Stock, POS and Commercial Kitchens Across Metro Vancouver

Every day a shop or a restaurant is shut is revenue that does not come back. These moves happen overnight or across the quietest two days of your week, and they are planned around a reopening time rather than a loading time.

Working with retail and hospitality across downtown Vancouver, Kitsilano, Mount Pleasant, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, the North Shore and the Fraser Valley.

What a Retail or Restaurant Move Involves

Everything is scheduled backwards from your reopening. That usually means loading after the last customer leaves, working through the night, and having the shelves stocked and the tills live before the doors open again.

Commercial kitchens carry their own constraints. Gas, water and extraction all need certified disconnection and reconnection, and health-authority requirements at the new premises can take longer to satisfy than the physical move does.

  • Overnight and closed-day crews — the move happens when you are not trading.
  • Fixtures and shelving — gondolas, rails, display cases and slatwall stripped and rebuilt.
  • Stock moved sealed — cartoned and counted so inventory still reconciles afterwards.
  • POS and back-office IT — crated separately and set back up at the counter.
  • Certified disconnection — gas, water and extraction handled by licensed trades.
  • Cold chain planned — fridges and freezers sequenced so product stays in temperature.
  • Mall and strata rules — dock bookings, after-hours access and certificates of insurance.

Why Reopening Time Drives Everything

The Reopening Sets the Schedule

We start from the hour you need to be trading and work backwards. That is a different plan from starting when the truck is free, and it is the reason most of these moves happen between closing and opening rather than during the day.

Inventory moves cartoned, sealed and counted rather than loose on a trolley. A shop that cannot reconcile its stock take the following week has lost more than the move cost.

Kitchens Need Trades, Not Movers

Gas, water and extraction require certified disconnection and reconnection. We book the fitters and technicians alongside the crew so nothing sits waiting, and we do not touch those connections ourselves.

Refrigerated and frozen product is the tightest constraint in any restaurant move. Those phases run first, with the shortest possible gap between one unit powering down and the next powering up.

Malls Have Their Own Rules

Shopping centres restrict deliveries to after-hours windows, require dock bookings and want insurance certificates on file first. We handle that paperwork rather than discovering it at the service entrance.

Fixtures up, shelves stocked, tills live, and someone walks the space with you before the crew leaves. Finding a missing shelf bracket at nine in the morning is not the plan.

Retail and Restaurant Moves Across Metro Vancouver

How the Move Runs

1. Site walk. Both units, with your reopening time, trading hours and any mall access rules on the table.

2. Plan and hourly rate. Crew size, the overnight window, which trades are needed and what it costs per hour.

3. Strip and load. After close: fixtures down, stock cartoned, kitchen disconnected by certified trades.

4. Rebuild and restock. Fixtures up, shelves filled, POS live, and a walk of the floor before you open.

What the Crew Brings

Panel carts, glass and mirror crates, garment rails, stock cartons, machinery skates, blankets, shrink wrap, floor protection and the tools for gondola, slatwall and display-case hardware.

Refrigeration technicians, gas fitters and electricians are booked alongside the crew where a kitchen is involved, so nothing waits on a trade that has not been called.

Trading Hours, Malls and Reopening

Malls and larger strata buildings restrict deliveries to defined after-hours windows and require insurance certificates in advance. We book those windows and file the paperwork as part of the plan.

Four to six weeks of lead time is comfortable. For restaurants, the health-authority inspection and the trades sign-off at the new premises usually set the date, so book the move once you have a realistic view of those.

Retail and Restaurant Moving FAQs

Can you move us overnight so we do not close?

That is the usual arrangement. We load after the last customer, work through the night, and aim to have fixtures rebuilt and stock on shelves before you open. Larger units may need your two quietest days rather than a single night.

Anything involving gas, water or extraction is done by licensed trades, booked to arrive alongside the crew. We move the equipment and reposition it; the certified connections are theirs to make and sign off.

Cold chain phases are sequenced first and kept as short as possible, with the new units powered and at temperature before product arrives. Tell us your tolerances at the site walk and the plan is built to them.

Charged at an hourly rate, with trades priced separately where a kitchen is involved. Unit size, fixture count, stock volume and mall access rules all feed into crew size and hours, which is what the site walk establishes.

Yes. After-hours access windows, dock reservations and the certificates of insurance shopping centres require are all part of the plan rather than something you chase separately.

Four to six weeks. For restaurants the real constraint is usually the health-authority inspection and trades sign-off at the new premises, so it is worth booking the move once you can see those dates clearly.
