White Glove Movers in Vancouver
Packed, Crated, Carried In, Set Up and Cleared Away, With Nothing Left for You to Do
White glove means you do not touch a box. We pack every room, crate what should be crated, carry it in, put the furniture where the plan says, unpack to the shelf and leave with the paper and the empty boxes. The term gets used loosely; this page says exactly what it means here.
Full-service and high-value moves across Vancouver, West Vancouver, the North Shore, Richmond, Burnaby and the Fraser Valley, for homeowners, interior designers, galleries and showrooms.
A full-service move is quoted after a walk-through, not from a form. Send your details and we will book a visit, or call and talk it through with the office.

What White Glove Covers
Some clients want the whole house done this way. Others want it only for the dining room, the art and the piano, with a standard crew for the rest. Both are normal, and the quote says which rooms get which.
Full Pack and Unpack
Every room packed by our crew, labelled by destination, and unpacked to the cupboard and the shelf at the other end. Learn more →
Fine Art and Mirrors
Canvases, framed works and large mirrors in mirror cartons or built crates, carried flat or on edge as the piece requires.
Antiques and Heirlooms
Veneered and inlaid pieces wrapped in paper before the blankets, drawers out, and nothing stacked on top in the truck.
Designer and Showroom Furniture
Deliveries for interior designers and retailers: received, inspected, delivered and placed in the client's home, packaging removed.
Glass, Stone and Marble
Glass tops, stone slabs and marble pieces crated on edge, never flat, with the crate built to the piece.
Pianos and Instruments
Uprights and grands moved on a board by a crew of three, as their own part of the day. Learn more →
Electronics and Home Theatre
Televisions in TV cartons, components labelled and cabled back up the way they were, with photos taken first.
Lighting and Chandeliers
Fixtures taken down by your electrician, then wrapped and crated by us and carried as their own item.
Debris Removal
Every box, every sheet of paper and every crate taken away on the last trip, so the house is a home the same evening.
What a White Glove Move Includes
The difference from a standard move is not the blankets, which every crew carries. It is that the packing, the placement and the clean-up are ours, the crew is sized so nobody is in a hurry, and each valuable piece is handled as its own job rather than as part of a load.
Before the move there is a walk-through. That is where we decide what gets crated, what gets paper-wrapped before the blankets, which pieces come apart and what the new floor plan looks like, so that on the day the crew works from a list rather than asking you.
- A walk-through and a written plan: room by room, piece by piece for anything crated or disassembled.
- Packing by our crew, with the right materials: dish packs, wardrobe boxes, mirror cartons, foam and paper, not newsprint on a dining table.
- Custom crates for what needs them: built to the piece for art, glass, stone and anything the client says cannot be replaced.
- Photographed inventory: each valuable piece photographed before it is wrapped and again after it is placed.
- Floor and wall protection at both ends: runners, door-jamb guards and corner protection on the route before the first piece moves.
- Placement to the plan, then unpacking: furniture set where the plan says, beds made, kitchen put away, boxes gone.
What Makes It White Glove Here
The Crew Is Sized So Nobody Rushes
A standard move is paced to get the truck loaded. A white glove move is paced to get each piece wrapped properly, and that means more movers for the same load so that no one is tempted to carry a sideboard without a second pair of hands. The quote shows the crew size and why.
Paper Before Blankets on Anything With a Finish
A moving blanket pressed hard against lacquer, French polish or gilt can leave its weave in the surface. Finished and antique pieces get a layer of clean paper or foam first, then the blanket, then the wrap. It costs minutes per piece and it is the difference people notice at the other end.
Crates Are Built to the Piece
Mirror cartons cover most framed work. For large canvases, glass tables, stone tops and anything irregular we build a crate to fit, with the piece floated inside on foam so nothing bears on a corner. You see the crate before the piece goes in it.
Placement Is Part of the Job
Furniture goes where the floor plan or the designer says, not where the doorway is. If you want the sofa tried on both walls before you decide, that is what the crew is there for, and the beds are rebuilt and made before anyone leaves.
We Work With Your Designer or Gallery
Interior designers, galleries and showrooms often book us direct for a client. We take delivery, inspect against the packing list, hold the piece if needed, and deliver and place it on the day the client wants, with the packaging gone when we leave.

How a White Glove Move Runs
1. A walk-through. We see every room, note what gets crated or taken apart, and ask for the floor plan at the other end.
2. A written plan and quote. Crew size, materials, crates, days, and which rooms are full-service.
3. Packing days before the move. For a whole house, packing is usually a day or two ahead, with the kitchen last.
4. Move day, placement, unpacking. Carried in, set to the plan, unpacked and cleared. A second day for unpacking is normal on a large home.
What to Decide Before the Walk-Through
Three decisions make the rest easy. Which pieces are irreplaceable, because those get crated regardless of size. Where the furniture goes at the other end, because a plan on paper beats pointing on the day. And what is not coming, because a white glove move is a bad way to transport things headed for donation.
If a designer or a gallery is involved, give us their contact. We would rather take the floor plan from them directly than relay it.
Parking, Stratas and Elevators
Crated pieces are wide, so the route from the truck matters more than usual. In Vancouver a reserved curb needs a street occupancy permit that takes 7 to 10 business days from payment; on a long West Side driveway we check the turning room on the walk-through.
Concierge buildings in Coal Harbour and Yaletown want a booked service elevator, pads on the walls and often an insurance certificate before the crew comes in. We send the certificate the day you ask and plan the crates against the elevator’s inside dimensions.
White Glove Moving FAQs
What does white glove moving actually mean?
Here it means the crew does everything: packing, crating, carrying, placement, unpacking and taking the debris away, with valuable pieces handled one at a time rather than as part of a load. Our quote lists what is included so the words mean something specific rather than a tone of voice.
How is a white glove move priced?
After a walk-through. Local moves are still billed on time, but the crew size, the packing days and the crates depend on what is in the house, so a number from a form would be a guess. The walk-through is free and the quote is in writing.
Can you do white glove for only part of the house?
Yes, and it is common. The dining room, the art and the piano get the full treatment and the rest moves as a standard residential move. The plan says which rooms are which.
Do you deliver for interior designers and showrooms?
Regularly. We receive the piece, check it against the packing list, store it if the install date is later, then deliver, place and remove the packaging on the day the client wants it. One contact at the office handles the whole thing.
What happens with pieces worth more than the standard coverage?
Tell us at the walk-through. For art, antiques or instruments above the standard limit we talk through the options before the move so the arrangement is settled in writing first. The worst time to find out a piece was under-covered is after it has moved.
Can you store pieces between homes?
Yes. Crated and wrapped pieces can go into storage while a renovation finishes or a sale closes, and come out on a second trip the same way they went in.
Want the Move Done Without Touching a Box?
Ask for a walk-through and we will come back with a written plan: crew, crates, packing days and what goes where. Or call and describe the house; we can usually tell you what it will take.
