Shared Trailer or the Whole Thing
Sharing a trailer with other consignments heading east is what makes this affordable, and the trade is a wider delivery window. A dedicated truck is faster and narrower, and costs roughly double for the same load.
Stairs and Access at Both Ends

Is it cheaper to rent a truck and drive it myself?
For a studio it sometimes is, once you count fuel, one-way drop fees, motels and five days of your time. For anything from a one-bedroom upward the gap closes quickly, and you are still the one carrying a sofa down three flights at both ends.
What if my Toronto place is not ready?
Common, and easily handled. Your shipment goes into storage at either end and is delivered once the keys are in your hand, which costs far less than holding a truck.
Do you move the other way, Toronto to Vancouver?
Yes, and it is priced the same way. Westbound trailers are often easier to fill in the autumn, which can work in your favour on timing.
